Love Birds

This little watercolour on paper is my favourite painting so far, I like my use of colour as well as the floral asymemetrical frame. I held my brush very loosely when making this painting and didn’t think much about the outcome. I also like the element of surrealism/fantasy present with the human kissing faces.

This is a watercolour on A3 cotton rag paper, I used my previuos 'Love Birds’ painting above as a reference when creating this one. I like this painting, though I do prefer the composition, and colours, as well as the fact that the birds were kissing in the reference painting.

I felt that cotton rag paper work really well with water colour, as it does a very good job of soaking up the paint yet still retaining the pigments and saturation of the paint.
