Playing With Clay

Earlier this week we experimented a bit mith clay and making moulds at school, and thought I’d share some images. I would have quite liked to have made clay sculptures, but we used the clay to make make moulds out of this white substance which I can’t remember the name of. I then made invertended and extended designs inside the bowl shapes, I chose to make a sun, cat, and minimal rectangular shape.

In hindsight I thinks a more detailed abstract design would have worked much better for a task like this.

We then filled the ‘little bowles’ with the white liquid substaance, and left them over night to stiffen up.

The next morning we peeled the grey clay away to reveal the white moulds above.
